A pulper can only respond to the material that reaches its inlet. Recording whether sea buckthorn arrived fresh, frozen or as prepared pulp — and how a frozen lot was held and thawed — turns an uncertain feed into a traceable process input.
A separation trial becomes easier to review when every collected stream has a name, a sampling method and a destination. For sea buckthorn, three labels are especially useful: aqueous juice phase, pulp solids and oil-rich cream. None of them is seed oil.
A separated sea buckthorn sample is not automatically defective, and a uniform sample is not automatically safe. The useful question is what the sample represents, how it was handled and which finished-product condition the process is meant to deliver.
A recent open-access study combines multi-frequency ultrasound with lactic-acid fermentation of sea buckthorn juice. It is worth reading as laboratory research and worth separating carefully from a conventional juice or puree line brief.
